How to tell your LinkedIn has hit a dead end—and how to fix it.

SCENARIO #1 - PEOPLE MAY NO LONGER LIKE YOUR POSTS

Option A - YOU DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE THIS PROBLEM

If your impression rate continues to decline, there's no need to panic yet. You may notice that engagement with your posts (likes and comments) remains at the same level.

And the number of people who viewed your profile hasn't dropped either. So what's happening?

LinkedIn's algorithm has learned to deliver your content to people who will actually read it.

So you have fewer impressions, but more of the people who had a chance to give you their attention actually did so.

Option B - YES, YOU HAVE A BIG PROBLEM

If all these metrics are declining, even though you're publishing roughly the same number of posts, you've probably been boring your followers.

Are you continuing to publish the same topics with the same themes and illustrations?

It may have been interesting the first time, but now we're just bored and skip these posts.

Change it. A lot!

SCENARIO #2 - YOU HAVE REAL INFLUENCE ON LINKEDIN, BUT NO BUSINESS FROM IT

This may mean you're waiting for people to send you their inquiries. That doesn't happen very often here. You need to identify your truly relevant fans and reach out to them first in a non-intrusive but direct way.

What might that look like?

For example:

"Hi George, if we talk about digitalization in your company, would you give me your feedback on the topic?"

I'll continue on these topics in the next newsletter, if you're interested:

SCENARIO #3 - YOU HAVE SOME FAME AND SOME BUSINESS FROM LINKEDIN, BUT IT'S WEAK...

SCENARIO #4 - YOU HAD A FUN START ON LINKEDIN AND THEN NEGLECTED IT ALL.

SCENARIO #5 - YOU'RE FRUSTRATED WITH PEOPLE AND WITH LINKEDIN'S ALGORITHM :).
