How to Become a TOP Voice on LinkedIn?

It took my colleague Sergej about five hours over three weeks to earn that badge.

Is it worth it? And how can you get it?

We can't confirm this because it's difficult to separate the effect of the badge from all the other things happening, and you would need a comparison of at least 10 profiles with badges and 10 profiles without them.

We don't have that many profiles with badges + Richard's other data generally correlates with ours, so we have no reason to doubt these specific numbers.

Now, it's not crucial that you have this badge. If you still want one, here's how to get one or even multiple:

STEP 1: CHOOSE THE BADGE YOU WANT (here - https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/topics/home)

STEP 2: CONTRIBUTE TEN RELEVANT COMMENTS TO ARTICLES WITHIN THE SPECIFIC TOPIC YOU'VE CHOSEN

Be aware that your contributions are visible to your current followers and may spam them. This is one of the reasons why these comments need to be relevant:

STEP 3: STAY PATIENT AND KEEP CONTRIBUTING, because only the TOP 5% of contributors earn this badge.

It will notify you slightly when you're getting close.

However, there is no clearly defined threshold you must reach.

Competition varies across different topics and it's much easier to become a TOP voice on a less popular topic.

Obviously, the algorithm determines your position among other competitors based on the number of your comments on articles related to a specific topic. And the number of likes your contributions received.

If and when you're ranked among the top 5% of contributors on a given topic, you'll receive the badge within 24 hours.

And now you'll have it for 60 days, after which it disappears and you can start over.

Or you can contribute to other topics and earn multiple badges.

In any case, avoid this common mistake: you must keep contributing to articles on one topic. I chose Social Selling articles, for example, and didn't switch to any other topics until I became one of the TOP 5% contributors.

In any case, there is a minimum number of articles on one topic you need to comment on to earn the badge—which is three.

It took me commenting on about 10 articles and roughly 30 posts over three weeks to earn the badge.

Now the main question remains: is it worth it in your specific case? That I must leave up to you.
